Scrape to Avoid Shapes

by onlinegames @ 2008-06-26 - 14:24:25

How to Play Scrape

In Scrape, the player has to avoid all the different colored shapes that appear on the screen. This is done by moving the mouse. But it is not so easy. You can get knocked out of the game very quickly (as I did the first time - I only managed .84 seconds!). But the second time was better. I got up to 5.16 seconds. Once I realized that I just had to stay in the grey (to avoid the colored squares that keep appearing), I understood the aim of the game and thus it was a lot easier for me. Next I got up to 17.04 seconds.

Challenges of Scrape

One of the biggest challenges of Scrape is that while you are in a relatively empty space with hardly any blocks around, you are lulled in to a false sense of security. But then you just never know when the blocks are going to come and surround you. And you never know just which corner to go to which will be safer because of the unpredictability of the movement of the shapes. I guess though it is precisely that unpredictability that makes the game so much fun.

Goal of Scrape

So you are in the mouse cursor in a grey screen. On the grey screen will appear different changing colored shapes (different shapes and different colors). You have to move around the grey colored screen and try and ensure that these shapes - which you have no idea where they are coming from - will not all come together to attack and thus kill you in effect. In other words, stay on the grey and do not get caught out by the shapes. Scrape is for sure a fun game and it definitely is a challenge too.

Throw the Bigger Snowball in Snow Fight 3D

Win the snowball fight in Snow Fight 3D

What I really liked initially about Snow Fight 3D was that the graphics were very cool and I guess it reminded me of my favorite time of the year - Christmas. The aim of the game is to win the snowball fight. The main problem I had with the game was working out how to jump over the fences. I knew that the shift key was to jump but somehow I couldn't get myself over it so that obstacle definitely impeded my success in the beginning. Unfortunately the game does not really contain any clear instructions (at least, I couldn't find any) so that made things more difficult. I only found a list of commands. Going left and right was straightforward enough (just with the arrow keys) and then if you want to move making marks in the snow you use the s or z keys. But other than that I found myself going round and round in circles for quite some time.

Practice at Snow Fight 3D to make it easier

So even though the instructions are a bit fuzzy, I did find that with Snow Fight 3D, the more I played the game the easier it became. I did get to move myself around more easily as I found that the harder I pressed on the shift key, and the closer I was to the fence, the easier it was to actually get myself over the fence. In level 1 you get 8 snowballs to throw. You also have to watch out for the other guy who seems to have quite a few snowballs too. He can really knock you out like he did with me. At least for the first few games it seemed like he was way faster than me at preparing and throwing the snowballs but I realized it just takes time to work out your moves.

It took some getting used to but like the first time I actually successfully jumped over a fence I was really happy and it got me excited to continue playing the game and looking for more ways to succeed. Soon I know I will get really good at winning this snowball fight!
